Best Horror Movies Names

Can you help me recall the names of two horror movies based on vague plots?
Horror is one of my favorite movie genres and I had the same affinity for them as a kid. There are two movies I vaguely remember watching which really creeped me out as a kid but I have never been able to recall the names. These are older movies. Made somewhere in the 80’s would be my best approximation.
Movie 1: Some high schoolers kill a fellow classmate (who I want to say was mentally handicapped). This person comes back for vengeance wearing a clown mask with jingly bells. One of the ways he kills was by splashing acid onto the face of someone in a biology classroom I think. That’s all I can remember.
Movie 2: Even more vague. A mom is taking a shower and then some monster tries killing her. The monster throws down an apple or a tennis ball down the stair with the writing, “mommy taste good” and the little kid who finds it freaks out.
That’s all I got. I’ve tried remembering more to these movies but I guess my long-term memory needs some work.
