New Horror Movies Show

I need help of horror movies / tv show old??

I'm not sure if it was a movie or an episode of. In the main guy she could be John Lithgow plays the role of a man who spends one last night in his apartment (house?) with his wife and they start seeing things. They have their last meal with some friends and he sees a bird in a cage in a mirror while his apartment is almost empty. Then at night they see the ghost of an elderly couple who believe they are the former tenants (owners?). The old man is abused his wife and then kills it. There's a part where the old man is dragging a coffin slowly. At the end you will find that some old ghosts but werent actually the "new" tenants of the place and the other couple (Lithgow? and woman) are the real "ghosts." Any ideas? This is not the more … its probably older than that! Set in more modern times I got the answer …. It was a show called House Hammer mystery and suspense episodes "in possession"

It sounds like an episode of Tales from the cyrpt (a former HBO series). They had many shows like this type of scenario.
